Successful Premiere of "Forever Young"
Russo's "Forever Young" received its first performance at New Haven's Memorial Day Concert on Sunday, May 27, 2018 by Orchestra New England under the direction of conductor James Sinclair. The performance took place at Lyman Auditorium on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. The performance was enthusiastically received by the audience, giving Russo and the orchestra a standing ovation. The composer said "The audience's response to my 'Forever Young" overture was overwhelming to me.....it was especially moving since there were so many veterans and veterans' families in the audience. My dear friends in the orchestra performed my music beautifully -- I was greatly moved by their wonderful performance of my heartfelt music".
